The initial brushstrokes of this painting began with the black squares and rectangular shapes. At the time I was researching the philosophy of order and my thinking’s were that perhaps by painting linear squares, that would bring more structure into my life. Boy oh boy did that not work at all….. the tides of my emotion could not bare the preciseness of drawing perfect squares and so the energy was shifted into a ball of fire. I was on the brink of rage and so all my “perfectionisms” washed away with the sacred burn of anger. If it were not for the fire in our lives, we would not be able to release things that no longer serve us. A shift has occurred.
